You'll join as a founding engineer and help build enterprise-ready, AI-powered patent intelligence products — working directly alongside the technical co-founders and domain-expert attorneys to ship scalable features for Fortune 500 customers and top law firms.
This is the kind of role that shapes how a product is built from the ground up. The architectural decisions made in the next 12 months will define the platform for years to come.
- Ship full stack features end-to-end — from frontend UI to backend APIs to production
- Build and improve products that handle complex patent search and document processing workflows
- Design and integrate AI/LLM-powered capabilities into the platform
- Make products more enterprise-ready, scalable, and professional for large customers
- Own outcomes independently in a small, high-velocity team environment
- Shipped end-to-end products in production (frontend + backend + deploy)
- Production-level experience on the modern web stack (TypeScript and React)
- In the Bay Area or willing to relocate
- 3–7 years of experience in full stack engineering, leveraging TypeScript/React and Python, at high-growth software companies
- Built enterprise-ready, scalable products
- Has worked at companies with high-bar engineering talent
- Strong academic performance (high GPA)
- Python backend framework experience (Django, FastAPI, or Flask)
- Experience deploying with AWS or equivalent
- Proven leadership experience for more senior candidates
- Experience with search systems, document processing, or AI/LLM API integration
- Job hopping (multiple sub-1-year stints) without depth on any problem
- Only worked at non-software orgs (schools, non-tech companies)
