Senior / Staff Platform Engineer
Infrastructure as a product — not a support function. Join a well-funded, AI-native fintech company building the internal systems that define how engineering happens. This is for engineers who care as much about how fast others can build as about what they build themselves.
Infrastructure as a Product
We’re working with a well-funded, AI-native fintech company building infrastructure that powers real-world financial workflows at scale. This is not a traditional infrastructure role.
This is for engineers who think of infrastructure as a product — and care deeply about how fast, safely, and effectively other engineers can build and ship.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll design and build the internal systems that define how engineering happens across the company:
- Build internal platforms and developer tooling in TypeScript
- Design and maintain CI/CD systems, including per-PR environments
- Create shared libraries, SDKs, and frameworks used across teams
- Own and evolve AWS infrastructure using Terraform or Pulumi
- Improve developer velocity by standardizing how software is built and deployed
- Drive reliability and observability — SLOs, monitoring, incident response
- Solve scaling challenges across compute, services, and databases
What They’re Looking For
- 7–25 years of engineering experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend systems
- Experience at a high-growth startup — Big Tech alone is not a fit
- Track record of building systems used and depended on by other engineers
- Strong TypeScript / Node.js for APIs, libraries, or internal tooling
- Deep AWS experience — compute, networking, storage, security
- Strong Terraform and/or Pulumi — modules, workflows, CI-driven infrastructure
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems
- Experience with observability tools — Datadog, CloudWatch, distributed tracing
- Familiarity with reliability engineering — SLOs, error budgets, incident response
- Thinks in systems, not just components — sees how things connect at scale
- Strong builder mentality — creates leverage and velocity for others
- Clear communicator, able to document complex systems accessibly
- High ownership, low ego
Candidates who match any of the following will not be considered.
- Big Tech background only — no startup or high-growth environment experience
- No hands-on infrastructure or platform engineering background
- Requires visa sponsorship (not available)
- Not based in the U.S.

Why This Role Is Different
What you build shapes how every engineer on the team works. Platform engineering at this stage multiplies the output of the entire organization.
Join a small team where your decisions become the foundation. Your architecture choices will define how the company scales.
The systems you build power live financial workflows. Production stakes, real users, real constraints.
Low process overhead. You own your work end to end — from design through production. No hand-holding, no micromanagement.
We work with a small number of teams building real, technically challenging products. This is one of those roles where the impact is disproportionate — what you build will shape how every engineer on the team works.
